چکیده

We classify the future of the universe for general cosmological models including matter and dark energy. If the equation of state of dark energy is less then −1, the age of the universe becomes finite. We compute the rest of the age of the universe for such universe models. The behaviour of the future growth of matter density perturbation is also studied. We find that the collapse of spherical overdensity region is greatly changed if the equation of state of dark energy is less than −1.

Hidden Multiverse: Explanation of Dark Matter and Dark Energy

The research presents an adjusted version of the special theory of relativity with its relativistic formulae considering the principle of physical reality of imaginary numbers, which allowed for developing a hypothesis of the hidden Multiverse. The Multiverse is referred to as hidden because its parallel universes are mutually invisible. The reason of their invisibility is explained herein. It ...

Gravitational Lensing Statistics in Universes Dominated by Dark Energy

The distribution of image separations in multiply-imaged gravitational lens systems can simultaneously constrain the core structure of dark matter halos and cosmological parameters. We study lens statistics in flat, low-density universes with different equations of state w = pQ/ρQ for the dark energy component. The fact that dark energy modifies the distance-redshift relation and the mass funct...

On the Effectiveness of Dark Energy and General Relativity in Modeling the Universe

The cause of the accelerating expansion of the universe has drawn much speculation in recent years. Dark energy is the most popular explanation for this phenomenon. Using data from Type Ia Supernovae, models of a universe with and without dark energy are contrasted to determine which explanation is more accurate. While universes with dark energy model the data more closely than ones without, th...

v 2 2 1 D ec 2 00 4 Multiple universes , cosmic coincidences , and other dark matters

Even when completely and consistently formulated, a fundamental theory of physics and cosmological boundary conditions may not give unambiguous and unique predictions for the universe we observe; indeed inflation, string/M theory, and quantum cosmology all arguably suggest that we can observe only one member of an ensemble with diverse properties. How, then, can such theories be tested? It has ...

Cosmological Spacetimes Balanced by a Scale Covariant Scalar Field

A scale invariant, Weyl geometric, Lagrangian approach to cosmology is explored, with a a scalar field φ of (scale) weight −1 as a crucial ingredient besides classical matter (Tann 1998, Drechsler 1999). For a particularly simple class of Weyl geometric models (called Einstein-Weyl universes) the Klein-Gordon equation for φ is explicitly solvable. In this case the energy-stress tensor of the sc...
